Nepal is the country; where Siddartha Gautam Buddha was born in Lumbini, which lies in the Southwest of Nepal. Later Gautam Buddha became the “Light of Asia”. Siddartha Gautam founded the Buddhist Religion. Buddhism was spread all over Asia during his life time. Later his disciple spread it all over the world. Buddhism has become one of the major religions followed by millions of people. UNESCO has declared the Lumbini a World Heritage Property. Almost every Buddhist country have built their monastery in Lumbini now. Lumbini is as Holy as Jerusalem for Christians and Mecca for Muslims. Still some media and books are misleading about the birth place of Siddartha Gautam, saying it is in India. This has to be corrected.
